In the town of Pueblo Viejo, Quiebra Hacha, located in Sector A of the Mariel Special Development Zone, this February 4, 12 families received new homes as part of the project.

In accordance with the Territorial and Urban Planning Plan for Sector A, and in order to make better use of the space in that area, during 2018 the ZED Mariel Office, together with the Institute of Physical Planning, the Party and the Administration Council of the Mariel municipality and the Mariel Integrated Project Directorate, worked on the census of the houses that hinder the development of the infrastructures, for their relocation.

This process involves the construction of completely new properties, with similar or superior characteristics to the current homes of the 120 families registered, with their prior consent.

After the delivery of the first 12 houses, the construction of the rest continues, in a community where public health services, education, commerce and gastronomy are also conceived.

Currently, the inhabitants of the Quiebra Hacha neighborhood are already benefiting from the infrastructure works, transportation, and jobs generated so far.

The strategic guide of ZED Mariel, its Development and Business Program, pays special attention to the social environment, intending to contribute to its development in parallel with advances in infrastructure, services and business establishment.
