FIRST STONE OF NESCOR S.A. LAID IN ZED MARIEL

The first stone of Joint Venture NESCOR S.A. was today laid in Mariel Special Development Zone, in the presence of Betsy Díaz Velázquez, Deputy Minister of the Food Industry, Laurent Freixes, Executive Vice-president of NESTLE and CEO for the Americas, Maurizio Partanello, Executive Vice-president of NESTLE and CEO of Waters and Ana Teresa Igarza Martínez, General Director of the Zone.

NESCOR S.A. is the result of the association between Cuban Corporación Alimentaria S.A., Coralsa and Swiss multinational Nestlé and will produce salted and sweet biscuits, soups, roasted and ground coffee, condiments and powder drinks of renown brands, for the domestic market and exports.

The modern plant, which will generate over 200 new jobs, has an investment amount of 55 million USD, an annual production capacity of 18 500 tons and is expected to start its operations in the first quarter of 2020.
