
RICHMEAT DE CUBA PLANT OPENED IN ZED MARIEL
This morning was the official opening of the meat processing plant of Richmeat de Cuba, S.A., a totally foreign capital company from Mexico, first foreign user approved in Mariel Special Development Zone.
The plant is equipped with a modern technology that guarantees the quality in its processes.
It has an installed capacity of 300 tons per month and from the beginning of its production it will be using domestic raw materials, by means of which they materialize the objectives of articulating with the domestic economy and effectively substituting imports.
The opening event was attended by His Excellency Sr. Miguel Díaz Reinoso, Ambassador of Mexico to Cuba, Luis Alberto González, President of Richmeat de Cuba, S.A., Directors of ZED Mariel and of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Investment, as well as authorities from Artemisa provincial government and Mariel municipality.
In his address the Mexican Ambassador said that this plant is an example that business can actually be done with Cuba and invited Mexican entrepreneurs to benefit from the advantages offered by Mariel Special Development Zone.
The President of Richmeat de Cuba, for his part conveyed his thanks to ZED Mariel authorities for the support granted to the successful completion of his investment and a plaque of acknowledgement was unveiled at the event.
