Lentes del Caribe S.A. new user of ZED Mariel

Lentes del Caribe S.A., a subsidiary of Corporación Siete from El Salvador will build in Mariel Special Development Zone a facility for the production and wholesale distribution of ophthalmological products, using FREE FORM technology for the carving of lenses.

FREE FORM is a free technology that uses a generator assisted by a computer and three axis with diamond tip, able to place any desired curve in the lens. With this technology lenses are designed in accordance with the patient’s requirements, face and frame parameters.

What makes FREE FORM development totally different is its capacity to produce lenses with 0.01 diopters accuracy, which is a significant improvement from the conventional technology used in labs, which have an accuracy error of +/- 0.12 diopters.
