Projects of the Portfolio of Opportunities for ZED Mariel and its Development and Business Program are presented

The new Portfolio of Opportunities for Foreign Investment in Cuba was presented this October 31 as part of the activities of the III Investment Forum, in the 36th edition of FIHAV.

The Minister of the sector, Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz, explained that the Portfolio has 525 projects, for an investment amount that exceeds 11,609 million dollars.

The Director of the ZED Mariel Office, Ana Teresa Igarza, made a special intervention at the event, where she showed the projects for this strategic area and presented the Development and Business Program recently approved by the Council of Ministers.

The Program constitutes the strategic guide of the Zone and takes into account the conditions of the country and the characteristics and potentialities of this area of ​​465.4 square kilometers, divided into 9 sectors.

According to the Program, the first Sector to be developed is Sector A, which already has a Territorial and Urban Planning Plan. It will be followed by Sector H, destined for tourism, Sector B as an extension of A and Sector G, linked to the vital industry of construction materials.

With the vision of being a multisectoral pole of economic and social progress, integrated into the national economy, inserted in global value chains and distinguished by the incorporation of the best management and investment practices, ZED Mariel defines its long-term strategic premises. deadline until 2042.

These premises focus on developing services, logistics, infrastructure and construction, human resources and the Office's Single Window System.

In addition, the director of the ZED Mariel referred to the Portfolio of Opportunities for the Zone, which includes 46 businesses in the industry sectors, including food, biotechnology, logistics, construction, development and production of medicines, transportation and real estate.
