Vice President of Vietnam visits ZED Mariel

Starting the schedule of her official visit to Cuba, Vice President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Dang Thin Ngoc Thinh, today toured Mariel Special Development Zone where she visited some of her country’s investments.

At the area where ViMariel Industrial Park is being built, the Vice President witnessed the progress in the investment process of this company, which is ZED Mariel’s first concessionaire.

Ngoc Thinh and her delegation were also brief on ZED Mariel by General Director of the Zone, Ana Teresa Igarza.

The visit also included the new plant of Thai Binh Global Investment Corporation, a Vietnamese capital company that will start the production of disposable diapers and sanitary napkins in September.

The Vice President of Vietnam pointed out that her visit to the island consolidates the existing excellent relations between the two countries.

There are currently three companies with Vietnamese capital in ZED Mariel, which reflect the expressed will of the Asian country to foster investment in key sectors of the Cuban economy.
